A Purse Collage and a Vacation coming up

Hi All

Remember the
'ad more colors to the creations'

Here´s another one
where I have tryed to incorporate some colors.
Still not that easy for me...

as always I used one of my vintage book covers as base
and added some layers of fabric, lace
and a beautiful fabric piece in golden and brown tones

some time ago I got my hands
an a little well worn coin purse
and though it was perfect for this collage.

here´s few close ups of the purse

I tugged in a sweet little german doll
along with some tea dyed cheesecloth

and here´s is how it turned out.
With more vintage lace pieces
and sweet vintage buttons

Vacation is coming up - yeaahh
I have the next two weeks off from work
and we have decided to take a little trip
to Sweden leaving this monday.

This is going to be so great.
It´s all about relaxation.
We haven´t planned a thing
just going to see what comes up
(I might be lucky to find a few 'loppis' though)
Fleamarkets you know ;-)

If you don´t 'see´me around the next week
you know why

Thank you so much for popping in today
and I wish you all the most beautiful weekend

A Journal Cover

I have been working on my journal cover
and have finally finished it.
I think it turned out quite pretty

Here´s some details from to front

and the back

I have been working on some tiny burlap bags too
using the same tecnic...
which is
'no plan at all, just use what´s on the table' tecnic..

Here´s one with the word Joy:
Lace, old book page, silk and vintage button

The word 'wish'
embroidered, a tiny bit of lace, more silk
ribbon and a mother of pearl vintage button

Thought they would be great for gifts
so I added a tiny tag/card inside the bag to match

These will go in my shop later.
More to come...

Remember the little bear in the making from
last post?

He´s here:

A sweet little handful

A Bear Update and a Giveaway

Hi everyone

I have been working on a new design
for the bears
and have finally finished a few.

I wanted to make a slightly bigger bear
and also wanted to make them more heavy weighted
with a fluffy tummy.

This first one is Marga.
She´s 5 inch and made of a handdyed pale pink sparse mohair.
She´s wearing a sweet bow round her head.

This sweet one is Linux - also 5 inch
and with a little fabric collar round his neck.
I hope you can see their fluffy tummys on the photos.

They are both listed on my website along
with a few more bears:

And now for the giveaway.

As this is my 10 years of bear making anniversary
I have made a little bear to giveaway to one of my followers and blog readers

Please meet

Simon is also just 5 inch and made from my new design.

He´s made of a golden sparse mohair
and have been slighly aged to look old and well loved.
He´s fully cotterpin joined
heavy weighted with a fluffy tummy too.

I made him a little pair of trousers
with tiny buttons and straps.

If you would like to win this
sweet little bear
all you have to do, is to leave a comment
on this blog post

I will draw a winner on
May 24th

Thank  you so much for visiting today
and I wish you all a wonderful day

A Wonderful Friendship Swap

Some time ago my friend Paula
and I decided to do a friendship swap.
We arranged it to be shipped out in the end of April
and Paula´s package have just arrived in my studio.

Here´s what she send me
You just won´t believe her generosity

fun stuff to create with: playing cards, musicsheet, papiermache eggs
and boxes, glitter, sweet fabric and an awesome old silver cup.

a tart tin filled with sewing notions
and sweet dolls head

beautiful old photos
and a matchbox filled with vintage buttons

awesome yummi laces
and sweet baby shoe

a buch of her own handsewn birds.
A mommy bird and tree little birdies
how appropriate just in time for Mothers Day.
Aren´t they just the cutest..

Beautiful pin cushions.
See the teeny tiny crochet shoe one.

A wonderful fabric heart with key
and a beautiful wallhangng with a sweet pocket

and more awesome lace and crochet pieces.
I can´t wait to create with these.

Thank you SO much Paula.
I will treasury everything always.

As usual I forgot to take photos
of what I send to Paula
so I have borrowed some of the photos
Paula took when my parcel arrived at her home.
I hope you don´t mind Paula

some of the pages from a little
lace book I created for Paula

The generosity and the friendship
in blog land is so amazing.
It always filles me with humility and gratitude.
Thank you SO much sweet friend

I´m working on a new bear design
right now, and since this year is my
10 years of bearmaking anniversary
I thought one of these new bear designs would make
a great giveaway.
More about that later...

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Back Home

Hi All

I´m back from a wonderful vacation in Amsterdam.
We were so lucky to have the wonderful
spring weather.

Here´s a few word pictures from our trip

when looking through the photos I took after I got back
I realized there wasn´t a lot of city pictures...
I hope it´s give you an idea anyway.

tulips at the flower market

love the bright colors on these.
Also from the flower market.

Amsterdam is a great cyckling city.
How about this bike - pretty huh....

These next photos are from the Vondel Park
A big beautiful park in the middle of the city

see these tiny pink leaves on the ground

and pretty faded hydrangeas

Near the hotel was this wonderful shop

all filled with vintage clothes and stuff from 1958
There were so many wonderful things - quite expensive though

and now you may think - how about the flea market...
oh - that wasn´t a flea market. It was a market with
mostly weird cloth and bags and stuff. I didn´t even get a photo.
That was quite disappointing - so no finds for me this time.

Remeber the journal stuff I took with me..

Here´s the start of a journal cover.
I did get some sewing time too and
are really enjoying the progress on this.
With no plans and just using what I have in hand

the front is finished and I have started on
the back as you can see.
We´ll see where this is heading..

Going to finish some projects
and then start on some new bears.
Have some new ideas I would like
to work on.

Wishing you all a wonderful sunday.
Missed you all
and are glad to be back :o)
