Making Little Books

Hello Friends
and Happy Friday
on this beautiful sunny day
as it is over here just now.

The last week I have been working on little altered books

Making experiments...
I have wanted for so long, so work more with books
and have decided this should be the year of books and bears
How does that sound - lol

some of these have lace pages - all decorated
some have paper pages - all ready for notes

This is the front cover of one with note pages.
The decoration is a vintage photo slide with a sweet
fabric photo behind. An old cufflinks and lots fabric and lace

you can see a peek of the pages here

experimenting with the binding too
I want to use different techniques with these
more about that in later posts

here´s another peek of a front cover
using a lid from an old rusty tin found at a flea

using some of the good stuff.
Lots of lace pieces
and some of my french fabric too

a look at the pages from the side

Stacking up in the corner of my table.
Some will be in the shop too.

I hope I´m not tiring you with my book stuff.

Wishing you all a beautiful day

My Lampshade Project

Hello Sweet Friends
and happy Sunday.

It´s a beautiful sunny day
over here today
and spring is definitely on it´s way

I´ve finished my lampshade project

and here you have the result.
I think they did turn out quite pretty

Here´s the inside of one of them
with vintage lace and vintage bookpages.

on the outside
on this one - cheesecloth and pretty fabric photos

pretty little baskets - they are.
Wouldn´t they be cute for Easter

inside this one,
old book pages, a vintage doily
and a sweet cabinet card.

Or maybe with a nest and some tiny eggs
and even a little bird....

Here´s they are in full.
I´ve added some wire wrapped
in seambinding for hanger,
and a little crystal chandelier piece
at the bottom on the one to the left.

This is how they look like when hanged.

Pretty right.... :o)

I hope you´ll all have an awesome sunday

Back From London

Hi All

Sorry for my long absence.
I came back from a wonderful and very busy
show at Hugglets last sunday.
This week have been such a busy one too, so I haven´t had
a moment for an update over here.

The show in London went so very well
and it was quite busy too, so I didn´t get a change to take any photos.
You´ll have to do with this one
from a wonderful sunny saturday in Hyde Park

My friend Ginger over at Bearbits have some photos
from the show though, so if you´ll like to have a look,
she have a post showing my table too.
You can see it here.

Only a few bears came home with me.

This little one is Baxter
He´s made from a vintage well worn mohair.
He´s now available on my website

Baxter - 4.3 inch

And this sweet little blue bear  is Mervin.
He´s only 4 inch.
He can be purchased here.

Mervin - 4 inch

Thank you so much to everyone who visited
and made the show such a huge succes.
I can´t wait to come back to September for another one.

Wishing you all a wonderful sunday

Time - An Altered Book

and here it is.
My finished Altered Book.

I originally started out wanting a natures theme on this -
it ended up having lots of birds in it,
I called it 'TIME' - An Altered Book
that makes sense right....  :o)
anyway

Here´s how it looks from the side

it shows some of the details
and you can see, I used a piece of drift wood
on the edge of the front.

the rest of the pages

I used some very cool drawings from an old book,
there´s lace pieces in there too,
and old watch parts

I´m really happy about how this page turned out
with the old bottle cap

The front and back is made from an old book
found at the flea - I love the old worn and tattered look.
On top a vintage keyhole and an old watch case
with a sweet vintage lady inside.

the back is decorated with a piece of lace
ans an old cabinet card with sweet children.
Could you tell, they loved to be photographed.

another peek of the pages.
This was SO much fun to make
and definitely not the last one I made this way.
It´s such a great way to use all those
odd finds I collect at the fleas.

This will be in the shop later today.

Thank you so much for popping in today
and wishing you all a wonderful day.

This is the front cover.
On top a round metal found object with wire netting
on top of a sweet image on fabric.

a look at some of the pages.
I´ve included some paper pages for notes too.
Here´s little pocket with velvet flowers.

another little silk pocket
and a sweet little fabric image

look at these precious ladies
all dressed up for a trip to town...

This is how the pages looks from the side.
Lots of layers

the backcover with another sweet image

all tied with silk ribbon and a vintage buckle.

I had so much fun making this
so I just couldn´t wait to start on another little book.
More about that in a later post.

This little book will be in the shop
later today.

Wishing you all a wonderful day
and a Happy Valentines too.

Time for something else - Work in Progress

Hello sweet friends
I hope you all enjoy the weekend
despite the freezing cold weather.
at least it is over here....

I´ve sat the bearmaking aside for a few days.
I feel I have enough for the fair by now and felt the urge
to work on something else.

this is what´s on my work table at the moment.
The start of a little altered book.

I´m using the book cover from one of those old ones
I found last summer in sweden

and have been able to work on a few pages today
using some of the good stuff

vintage lace pieces
sweet fabric images ect.

going to show you more as this little
book comes together.

A little note about the follower stuff here in blog land.
As most of you know the Google Friends Connect
is no more supporting the non Google community as of March 1.
and some will know it´ll disappear from blogger at some time too.

So
to still be able to follow if you like
there´s a new follower tool over at the side bar.

All you have to do is sigh in and create your account.
It´s all free and very easy to use.
Just click 'follow me'
over at the "LINKY" tool

I do hope you will ;-)
Have a wonderful weekend
sweet friends
