and More Finds

We have been celebrating the Whinsun this weekend
and I have spend some great time with family and friends

As they all - by now - know my love for
'old junk' as they call it, they had sheduled
some junking time for me too.

A trip to my favorite flea marked
and some saved boxes from and old lady
stored in secret at my family.

This is what I brought home

from the flea market

an antique pair of binoculars

an old photo in frame

vintage glasses, handcrochet lace, some metal buttons

from the family

a bunch of old petticoats in cream, pink and peach
they are going to be transformed into altered suitcase pockets
[I think]

some old tools and a bunch of plasticcovered?  lace doilies

an old glass bottle, spectacle lenses and vintage hairpins

tins and a sweet french  powder canister

old cristmas candles and ornaments
and a stack of old bingo cards and numbers

a box of wooden spools and handles

and two big journals

with original Danish ledger paper from the fifties.
almost unused.
Would have been better if they had been used
but you can´t have it all, can you.....

Going to be busy in the studio the next days....
some of the stuff is already listed here.

All this together with a wonderful time
with family and friends
Who could ask for more...

Wishing you all a wonderful day

A handsome couple - don´t you think
They are both available here

One more is in the making

Todays Finds

You know
there are 'nice to dos'
and 'need to dos'

and visiting flea markets are definately a 'need to do' thing
in my house, so I went for the lokal market today.
Not much to bring home though
but I did get a few things

a little bunch of old tin boxes in some great colors

a few ladies watches
going to pull them apart and use the part for jewelry - I think..

three little packages with old photos
from Sweden, Norway and Denmark

inside each there´s a bunch of old turist  photos
the colored ones are from Copenhagen
many years ago.

After visiting the Flea market
we went to visit my 90 year old MIL on the way back.

When we got there she draged me to a drawer
and wanted me to look at some old stuff she didn´t want to have anymore
and if I could some of this....

IF I COULD USE ANY OF THIS......
ofcourse I could

oh - and I have some old clocks too
would you like to have them too

just look at these
the big one at the right with the green color
is a perfect cream on the outside
and I just love that green and cream one to the left too

this is a very old jewelry box she had tucked
in the bag of her old cabinet
here, take this - she said
I don´t want this old junk anymore

and this is what I found inside....

lots of old jewelry parts, pins, earrings,

and a bag with vintage pearls and broken necklaces

I don´t think this junk
I think it´s a treasury

Don´t you think there could be some
great new jewelry out of this?

Wishing you all a blessed sunday

With Hinge and Tags

Some time ago I came across a tiny old hinge
at a flea market, and I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for

and since then I have been hunting for more.
I haven´t found more at flea markets yet
but I did find some that could be used
in my husbands gems in the cellar....

I don´t think he´ll miss them though
you see - they are a bit rusty too
they must have been there for some time...
naaaa - he won´t miss them

so, using tiny key, lots of ribbons
and lace

old paper
and some grunge tags

I have been having fun creating
Tiny French Inspired Tag Books

inspired by all those beautiful
garden journal I see around in blogland

instead of garden and nature
I keept these french inspired
and had great use of my newly bought
Cavalli Stamps too

just need to go hunting for some
more of those hinge now
so I can create more tiny tag books.

Thank you so much for visiting
over here today and
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Dreaming in White

I have wanted to create something in those delicious
white and cream colors for some time now
and the print on muslin project generated the first idea in my head.

this sweet image of birds (printed on muslin), some lace,

and a vintage doily
was used for the cover of this journal

on the inside of the cover is a sweet 'album' image
and on the inside of the back cover is a pocket
tucket with sweet bird images

***

this next project included some fabric,
seam binding and lots of lace

you probably know those altered suitcase pockets...

well - I didn´t have any old suitcases to I decided to make my
own altered suitcase pockets instead

I thought they would be great to tuck little thíngs in for presents

a few of these are on their way as presents already.
I won´t show you what´s inside as it would spoil the surprice
and I won´t tell you for whom eighter - they might pop in here for a look.

some will be heading for my shop too.
Just need to find a few goodies to put inside of these too.
okay - my first attemp of creating little pockets.
What do you think...

Wishing you all a wonderful and creative tuesday
