A fabric roll

I've been working on a fabric roll
I started this project about christmas time
but didn't really had the time to work on it.

I picked it up again about a month ago and it's finally finished.

here's some pics of the work in process

40 inch long strib of fabric with little fabric pieces attached on top
each little piece handstitched with what turned out to be a flower theme

I've attached the fabric roll to a vintage spool.
it was actually the spool that inspired me to make the roll

a little piece of seambinding added as hanger

lots of details in this pieces and lots and lots of slowstitch
it was so mch fun and definitely not the last fabric roll i'm going to make.

[it's listed in the shop]

wishing you all a wonderful sunday

When real life takes over life

and so much for the promisses.
life have been so crazy over here - I have no idea how time have disapeared.

but here I am...

I've been able to sneak in a little creative time in between
and have been working on some little sewed pieces for the shop.

the base on this one is an old cabinet card

and some little tea bag art pieces

finished houses

I was lucky to get my hands on an old quilt piece to use in my creations.
I just love those old worn pieces - they are perfect for my stitched pieces

in the making...

and the finished piece
I really like this piece.
it's in the shop now

a nine path and a flu

I finally managed to finish my little blue and grey nine path

here's a little close up of the work in progress

lots of little details

I'm quite happy with this.
the slow work in these pieces are very therapeutic

and then I went down with the flu.....

for more than a week - laying down with this view.
the weather is still cold around here

while we wait for spring.
lots of little spring flowers in the garden and the peonies on their way.

I'm back up and working on some slow stitching.
back soon

Another Journal spread

Here's another journal spread - ByBun 'style'
and with the use of colors
very unfamilar for me - I do find it difficult

this is the background as it looked like before adding the details.
I'm quite fond of the red color in here.
You can't see it, but there's layers here with paint and paper scraps.

this is how the spread ended up - with all the doodle details.
I like the little deer in the corner - I want to work more with this kind of transfer
and I do like the ladders too. I think they add a nice element.

here's some close up photos to see the details.

I added some scripples too - I like that.
I really really like this class - not sure where this leads, but it's definitely going to
influence on my collage work - I sure of that.

thanks for peeking in.

It's a beautiful sunny but cold day here today, I hope your day is beautiful too.

Fighting the Blues and some Art Journaling

I told you I was back
and so I though
didn´t calculate the winter blues.

it normally sets in when december is approaching
and normally I´ll start feeling better after christmas
and so I thought this year too
only I wasn´t
this year was worser

so
I´ve been taken one day at a time
ordinated myself some
d-vitamin and some exercise
thing are much better

I haven´t finished the blues story piece I showed you last time.
Instead I signed up for some art journal classes
to get some new inspiration

treated myself with some new suppliers
and started on the workshop ByBun

I love the style she have.

adding details

I really like the idea with the layers and the doodling
