Every year at Whitsun
we spend the weekend with very good friends
visiting Open Art Studios

This event happens to be in the same area as my all time
favorite flea market.
So this year we started out at the flea.
There were so many vendos this time due to the awesome
weather and I got some really great finds.
I´m going to show you those in the next post.
Here´s a few peeks from the market

The rest of the weekend was spend visiting
a lot of Open Art Studioa.
Most of them is situated in some very beuatiful places too

I hope these mood pictures
will give you an idea of my weekend.

The weather was perfect.
I couldn´t have asked for more.

I´m going to show you
my awesome finds in the next post

Making something to Wear

I´ve finally had some time to create
something to wear.
I do have a shop for that too you know.

Knitting and crocheting is what I do in the evenings
while watching news on the tv.

I do watch a lot of news.
That´s almost the only thing I watch on the tv.

these last evenings I have been working on cuffs

this is how they look when finished.

For a long time I have been wanting to
make some fabric cuffs too.
I started gathering suppliers long time before Christmas
and it was planned to be my christmas months
cosy crafting project, but life happened
and I didn´t get time to make any.

Now was the time
and I´ve finally managed to make a few.
These are my first attemps, so bear with me :-)

A little closeup
I´ve used some of my vintage lace - of course

a little bling
and vintage buttons

more closeup
with a pretty rose colored velvet ribbon.
The rhinestones on this one
is actually inherited from my mother
so they are pretty old.

Here they are
5 different romantic cuffs

I think they turned out quite pretty
as a first attemp to be.

Both the knitted/crochet ones
and the fabric ones
are destined for

Wishing you all a very pretty day today

From Worktable to Finished Project

I´ve finished my project on my worktable
the project from last post
A new journal

here´s a look at the spine.
It´s a Full Tilt Boogies Journal.
I love how these journals are bound

this time I covered my book covers completely
using on of my vintage table cloths and some bits and snippets

a little closeup of the strap in the spine

lots of different pages inside.
A lot of white ones this time
but also some made of scrapbook paper, ledger paper
and covers from old records

a little texting on the front

here´s another look at the pages

and how the back of the journal looks like.

Now - If I only dared to start journaling
in some of these homemade journals

Those fresh pages - blank and ready...

seems I don´t have the courage yet.

Have a wonderful day my friends
and thank you for peeking in today

Photographing a Bear

I´m experimenting with the photos of my bears

This is all a consequence
of a recent discussion in one of the forums
I belong too - whether to use a plain white
background or using props in your photos

diverted from the fact that Etsy require
plain white background to have a chance of
being chosen for the frontpage.

What works the best for the items and shouldn´t it be
up to the artist to set the scene

it turned out most wanted to use props
in the photos and liked those photos with a sat
feeling and atmosphere.

I´ve always used plain white backgrounds for my photos
or as white as possible, as those white ones offen turns out
blueish or greyish.

so I thought I would give it a try
and see what happened.

Personally I like the photos with the white backgrounds the best.
That works best for my imagination
if I was to buy the item and let me think how it
would look in my home.

I would be afraid, that MY setting of the mood
and atmosphere would turn people away
if they didn´t like it

this is where you, my sweet readers come in.

What do you think?
if you were the buyer - what attracts you?
would you be drawn to the photos with a set mood
or do you prefer plain background?
Does it help your imagination if the scene is sat?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this

This last little one is Ness
She´s available over at Ebay
until Sunday
Here´s the link if you would like to have a look

Wishing you all a wonderful friday

A Book and A bear

I went back to my Full Tilt Boogie project
and made myself a new journal

I still haven´t used the first one I made
but I do love making these journals

I made this one a little different.
Here´s the spine

I can´t find any of the celluloid photo albums over here
so I still use old book covers
So far it works well I think

I´m very pleased with this one.
I haven´t decided if I´m actually going to journal in them.
I might put the first up in the shop.

I´m working on new bears too
and have just finished this little fellow.
He´s made from a vintage mohair in a lovely old green color
3.5 inch is he - I called him Lawrence

anothe one is in the making

I think he´s going to be cute too :-)

Wishing you all a beautiful spring day
