New Necklace

Just before my vacation I came across some vintage german paper, and though it would fit perfect into the cabochon and crown egde cameos that just had arrived in the studio.

I have been wanting to create something with these beautiful cameos for a long time now.
So I ordered some and created this necklace using a piece from and old broken jewelry..

and a sweet little brass bird.

I love the colors on this. I think it came out quite beautiful actually.

This necklace is now listed in my Etsy shop. Click here if you would like to have a look.

Back to work on bears for the Fair on June 7th.
Have a lovely day.

Italy 2009

This is what I have been up to. We were travelling around for 12 days - only one day with rain and one day cloudy. The rest was sunny and very very warm.
First stop was Cinque Terre at the coast. The most beautiful spot I have ever seen. (have I told you that before..laughing here.)

5 towns close to the sea in the middle of the mountains. We walked the 4 of them. From Rio Maggiore to Vernazza. The paths goes along the coast - with the most beautiful views to the sea.

See how far up we are - walking on the small paths. End of this walking is the town down there. I love the colors of these small towns - all house painted in orange, yellow, okker with the deep blue sea as background.

After Cinque Terre we went to Cuneo - near the Alpi Marittime National Park. Our plan was to walk from Terme di Valdieri to the valley high up, but the paths was closed. There´s still snow and danger for more snow slide. See the snow on this photo.

snow melting and running down the river. There´s so beautiful in this park. We had 86 degrees and still snow on the top of the mountains.

Futher on to the wine district - rooftops in Barolo. We spend 4 days here. travelling among the small town tasting wine and eating good food.

Last stop was Milan. Our first visit in this amazing city. Leonardo Da Vincis hometown. This is the very famous shopping arkade in the centre of Milan - with all the expensive shops. Look at that building. It´s so beautiful and amazing.
And so is the Duomo. I have never ever seen such a big and amazing building.

You can walk to the top of the Duomo and walk on the roof. 240 steps. It´s really really big. It wasn´t allows to photograph inside the church, so I can´t show you how big it is. There´s place for 40.000 people inside - wow.

Every place on the outside is decorated. It took almost 500 years to built it. Finished by orders from Napoleon 1, and orcourse with a statue of himself on the top.

In another church in Milan, Santa Maria Delle Grazie, 'the last supper' is situated, painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. Unfortenately we wasn´t able to get tickets. You have to buy them several month before, so this must be next time.

Back to work on the giveaway - coming soon.

Vacation ahead

Vacation - yipee
Monday morning, my husbond and I will leave for 12 days vacation in Italy. I´m so looking forward to this, and think it´s going to be so great.
The plan is as follow:
We fly in for Milan where we have rented a car. First stop will be Monterosso Al Mare at the coast in Tuscany. Monterosso Al Mare is one of 5 small towns in Cinque Terre - one of the most beutiful spots in the world.

See what I mean. I took this photo last time we were in Cinque Terre. I love the colors of the deep blue sea, the rocks and the houses built in the rocks. You can walk between all 5 towns along the coast, and that´s what we have planned. We are going to stay here for 3 days.

After Cinque Terre the trip goes to Cuneo in Piemonte. Close to the big National Park Alpi Maritime. For trekking of couse. Cuneo is a very pretty city. We drove through last time and only got 2 hours for a walk. I did see a small shop with paints and rubber stamp ect though - have to visit this time.
From Cuneo futher on to Alba - a small town in the middle of the wine district. With walk in the wine marks, wine tasting and god food too.
From Alba back to stay 2 days in Milan before we fly home.

I hope to find some antique shops and flea markets along the way too.
Sounds like something - hmm. wanna come....

Have a lovely saturday

Blog Award

Sweet Candice who blogs over at 'I dream of Jewelry' have awarded me with this lovely blog award. Candice is one very sweet blog friend. She makes the most beautiful jewelry. Make sure to check out her shop too.

THE AIM OF NENO'S AWARD IS:

1) a dedication for those who love blogging and love to encourage friendships through blogging.

2) to seek the reason's why we all love blogging.

REASON:
When I first started blogging I had no idea how much this would change my world. I started out with very few posts promoting my bears. Thinking about how to write in a different languase - could I do that (still having some trouble - lol), would anyone be interested at all. I soon found out it was so additive and I began to write about everything I create in my studio, not only my bears - and the most lovely readers came to my blog to follow my life and my creations. For that I am truly honoured and I want to thank everyone who read what I write. Thank you too all of you who take the time to comment on my posts too. The hardest part is to chose some blog friend from others as I would so much love to give this to everyone on my blog roll. You all means so much to me.

I would like to present this award to some very special friends I have got to know through blogland:

Sharing is the key word here, and the above blogs do just that! They are a joy to read and and great inspiration for me.
When you receive this award~ 1) Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it, explaining the aim of the award.2) Don't forget to mention the person who gives you the award.3) Answer the award's question by writing the reason why you love blogging.4) Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.5) Don't forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.(or make up your own rules!)
To all my blog friends - wishing you a beautiful day

Buttons

Did I ever mentioned I love buttons...
Thought I would show you my button collection today. Most of them are real old buttons. I have the white ones stores in an old glass jar, found in the cellar in my mother-in-laws house. Oh - she have so much lovely stuff.

I love those old white ones. Every time I visit a flea market I have to look after more. They have become rather rare in Denmark. I suppose there´s more than me who likes them - ha

old military buttons - big and small. Love the color of those. Perfect for some mixed media projects - quite fancy with the crowns on top.

pretty buttons from old dresses. Also from my mother-in-law. As young she worked for a dress maker, and every time they had to repair some of those dresses they manage to get hold of some of those buttons. And she have keept them ever since. I haven´t used any af those yet - can´t get myself to use them on a project just yet.

a closeup of those pretty buttons

little old button card - the only one I have, and there´s only four buttons left. I think it´s pretty though.

See my little old button card among my white buttons in that old jar.
Do you love buttons as much as I do. I would love to hear.

Have a lovely weekend
