Merry Christmas

Things are starting to settle down now - all the preparations for tomorrow are finished.
All the presents are wrapped - all the food shopping are done. I even had some spare time to work in the studio.

I wish for all of you a peaceful and joyful Holiday.
Merry Christmas

Making decisions

I always find it difficult to make those decisions - about advertising that is.
I find that advertising is a must - but to find out how much and where..., that the question.
So far I have signed up for 4 issues in Australian Bear Creations for next year , as I´m going to participate in two shows down under. One online show (be my Valentine) and one real show(Sydney Teddy Bear Fair).
And then I have signed up for all 4 issues of the NEW Teddy Bear and Friends Mag. in the US. I´m really looking forward to the new design.
This mag. is going to have 4 issues a year instead of 6 next year - and each mag. will be bigger with a lot of feature and stuff.

Besides these two magazines, I was so lucky to get a spot in the Lollishops ad. in Somerset Life Spring Issue. This had to be a really really fast decision - and I didn´t hetitate one moment when the sign up was released. You have to be really quick as there´s only 30 spots available.
This will be my first ad. in one of Somersets magazines - oh, I love those magazines.

Sofar with the advertising next year - I´ll have to see what more will be necessary. Maybe I´ll be the lucky one for one more Somerset ad.

I realised I had to have new business cards for my Lollishop too. Spend the day taking pictures for those. And for some mini cards too. I have ordered my new business cards and mini cards at MOOs in UK. Can´t wait to see them in real. I think these pictures will look really pretty on my new cards.

Am I going to have a new look on my blog too next year? - Haven´t decided yet. But I have seen some really pretty designs, and would love to have a pretty look on mine too. I´ll have to make up my mind about that too. There´s some really clever girls out there making designs for blogs.
Maybe I just have too - a must you know....

Have a great day.

Vacation

These last days after my vacation have been extremely busy with unpacking from our holidays, making paper work for sold bears, listning new bears on Bid4Bears for the Artist Power Campaign ( I´m already a week behind ) and preparing for upcoming shows.
But now I think I have everything sorted out - atleast on my very long 'what to do' list :o).

I had a wonderful day at Hugglets. It was so exciting to meet collectors and fellow artists.

This is my table, just before the opening. I really enjoyed the day, and actually sold quite a few bears too. The atmosphere was so lovely and everyone was so happy. I think everyone had a great time. A big thank you to all of you who visited my on the day. It was so nice to meet you all.
After Hugglets, my husbond and I had planned a 14 days vacation travelling around in England.
First stop was Taunton, near Exmoor National Park for travelling. And so we did. This area is SO beautiful. We also got time for a visit to Minehead by the sea.

After Taunton our next stop was the beautiful city of Bath. Their anual Jane Austen Festival began the same day we arrived. Unfortenaltely we wasn´t aware, so we didn´t see the parade. But we did see lots of people in the park dressed up as on Jane Austens time. That was really fun.

And of course we had to se The Roman Bath. That was so interesting. Just being there and let you fantasy imagine how life was in those days in Bath. Just beautiful.

I really liked Bath. Those gorgeous buildings and the atmosphere. Definately have to go back some day. I´m also very proud to announce that my bears now are available in the bear shop in Bath: http://www.houseofbears-bath.co.uk/.

tiny bears in the shop window

After Bath, our next stop was Cheltenham. For walking again. And so we did.
We walked all the way up the Devils Chemny (from the hardest way ofcourse) - and was rewarded with most beautiful view.

While we were in Cheltenham we also found time for a one day trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon to see Sheakspeares birthplace and the church where he is buried.

After Cheltenham our last stop was Birmingham.
We arrived the very same day as the Conservative Conference began, so there was SO many people in town. I have never seen so many people in black suits. Fortenately we had reserved all our hotels from home (thanks Ruth) - otherwise I´m not sure there had been a room for us.

I have never seen any city with so big shopping centres as Birmingham. I could have spend several days in there, which ofcourse I didn´t as my husbond was traveling with me :o)

As you hopefully can see, I have had a wonderful vacation in England.
We were so lucky with the weather. A bit cloudy and a lot of sun all days. People are so nice in UK - in fact I loved every bit of it. Definately going back.

This has to be for now.
I´ll better get back to some bear making.

Many hugs, Tina

Flea Market Finds

Last week we took a trip to the countryside - the weather was beautiful, and we wanted to have a day away from home and just relax.

On the way we visited a big lokal flea market. This flea market is open every saturday during the summer month, and this is the place to visit for great finds. I knew it was there when I suggested that we took a trip to the countryside :o).

This is what I found this time:

An old photo book with lots of vintage photos.

More vintage photos. Haven´t planned what to use them for yet. Maybe cards or in my ATCs.

And a bunch of old wachtes. Aren´t they just great. I will definately use some of the smallest ones for my bears. The bigger ones - I don´t know yet. Maybe l´ll pull them apart and use the pieces for jewellery or something like that.

Oh - and I AM working on those bears for Huggglets. Hope to show you some very soon.

Have a lovely weekend.

Tiny Treasury Boxes

These tiny boxes are some of my 'in between bears' projects. The first one is a tiny papier mache box covered with paper music sheets and decorated with an old wooden bobbin on top. I have added some seam binding, a metal tag and a pearl.

The next little box is also a papier mache box covered with pale pink paper and decorated with seam binding, crepe paper and a lovely glass heart on top.

Both boxes can be opened - great for tiny treasures.
They are both listed on my Etsy Shop.
Many hugs, Tina

Ahead of schedule

So it´s been a while since I have posted here. That actually means that I´m ahead of schedule :o)
I can´t reminder last time this happened.

A lot of new fabric arrives in the studio these days. Look at those colors - aren´t they just wonderful. This mohair is for my bearmaking class in september. The kits will be made of that lovely pale pink mohair. It´s actually a pale pink with a darker pink tip. You can´t see it on the picture but it´s really wonderful.

This is the new mini bear fabric for the class in september too. Just haven´t decided which of those colors I´m going to make the kit in. Now I just have to make the models. I have them planned in my head - just have to sew them :o)

And all the advertising arrangements for fall are made. I´m going to advertise in The Teddy Bear Club International magazine and the Hugglets Guide for the fair in september.
The hangtags to use on the bags at the Hugglets Fair are ordered - I´m awaiting them every day now. Quite excited to see how they look for real.

Quite a few bears are already finished for the fair - yipee. I these days I´m working on a totally new design to be released at Hugglets. A sweet big-headed little fellow. The first one came out really cute. I have big expectations for the design - you´ll just have to wait at bit to see them.

Now it´s time for some 'in between bears' projects - see next post.
For now hugs, Tina

New bears

A few new bears have been added to my website.

One of them is Bodley - 5.1 inch and made of brown sparse mohair.

He has twotoned amber glass eyes and a black embroidered nose. I have aged his mohair to make him look old. He has a rusty nut round his neck. He is such a sweet little soul looking for a new home. He and his new friends would love a visit.

Flea Market Finds

It´s been a while since I have been to the lokal Flea Market, so I decided today was the day.
I went on really early before it got too hot. It is really hot these days in Denmark. The summer is already here and have been for nearly a month now.
This is todays finds:

A bunch of old maps in the most lovely colors of blue, green and brown. They have been used in the army once. Some old cake tins in different shapes. Some really pretty decorative buttons, two old broches - one with a little rabbit and one with the colors blue, white, red. And five oval metal tags.

The maps and the metal tags are meant for some mixed media art or maybe ATCs. The old buttons and the broches would look really pretty on some of my bears. I already have several ideas in my head.
And the cake tins - haven´t decided yet. Maybe I´ll just use them for decoration. They were so pretty I just had to buy them. I´ll find a use for them some day :o)
Happy sunday, Tina

A secret passion

Here it comes. I have to make a confession:

I LOVE MAGAZINES.

Especialy the ones I can´t get in Denmark. All sorts of craft magazines and teddy bear magazines. All those with christmas decoration ideas and stuff. And all the magazines from Stampington. I just love those. What a pleasure every time the postman brings a new magazin , to sit down with a cup of coffee and look at all those fantactic pictures and all those lovely ideas that I don´t have the time to create myself. And I love to get inspired - wow

When I read about exciting magazines I didn´t knew about, I just have to find out more and to see if I can get a couple of copies or sometimes a subscribtion.

Now I´m running out of space for new magazines. I don´t throu them away you know. In case I have to read them again which happens all the time. Well - sometimes I do sell some. I use to bring some of the oldest with me to sell at Teddy Bears Fairs.

Okay - so now I have unveiled myself - now it´s your turn :o) What is your secret passion.
Many beary hugs, Tina
